an easy way to fix it open dos prompt type format c:\ hit enter type yes hit enter and wait an hour then it is fixed

Ya, we ended up doing a full format/OS reinstall to this sad sad PC.

This is why i like working with macs better...>.> although they can get rowdy too.

that has been out for a very long time.

how has he managed to either escape so long or if protected what failed?

some things like root kits will not be uninstalled by that all it will do is pop up windows forever saying virus detected could not remove access denied

I don't think Windows has a "root kit"; I believe those are called, for Windows, "idiots."

He actually didnt have an anti-virus or a firewall (hence the reason i was using housecall)

Common sense FTW. It's the best firewall money CAN'T buy. When you get the email saying that a dozen hot chicks want to talk to you... you don't open it.

their are root kits for windows in fact sony just got sued for adding one to CD's audio CD's

A root kit is something that is used on UNIX boxes to maintain UID/GID 0. It's used to also exploit the vulnerabilities to gain superuser access.

Windows has trojans, spyware, virii, popups, adware, worms, idiots, morons, and bankers.

Root kits go back to the day where hacking was a crime worth committing.

thats why i carry my handy dandy Hi-Jack This program which corresponds with my firewall to send out nasty little surprises to anyone trying to act silly

I like your style I need to teach you how to hack Cisco 2600 series routers and up, and how to install backdoors in IOS, then use those to begin packeting the "silly" people.

I can gaurentee I have atleast 1000 viruses now. My ctrl-alt-delte function doesent even work anymore. I'm guessign is was disabled so I couldn't see the hordes of programs that infest my computer.
